Imperial Assault is een strategisch bordspel met tactische gevechten en missies voor 2-5 spelers dat zich afspeelt in het Star Wars universum! Het spel plaatst spelers midden in de Galactic Civil War tussen de Rebel Alliance en de Galactic Empire na de vernietiging van de Death Star boven Yavin 4.
Imperial Assault bestaat uit twee spellen in 1 box:
- Campaign Game: twee tot vier rebellen gaan de strijd aan tegen een medespeler die de troepen van het Galactic Empire bestuurt. Dit is een rollenspelachtig avontuur met meerdere missies, waarin de karakters ervaring opdoen en sterker worden. Gebaseerd op het spelsysteem van Descent.
- Tactische skirmish game: Speel head-to-head, tactische battles met miniaturen en command kaarten.
Imperial Assault bevat als bonus een Luke Skywalker Ally Pack en een Darth Vader Villain Pack. Deze packs bieden plastic miniaturen en extra campagne- en skirmish missies rondom Luke Skywalker en Darth Vader.

Imperial Assault casts you and your friends into the climactic events following the Death Star's destruction above Yavin 4, and offers two full game experiences within the Star Wars saga.
